Research in THPG: Pentaquark

"Penta" in the name of pentaquark assumes 5 constituents. However, the name "pentaquark" contradicts in some sence the philosophy of our picture of baryons that allowed us to make a prediction for the antidecuplet in 1997. In short, the ideas about the antidecuplet can be presented in the form of four simple equalities:

The main ideas of the prediction of the exotic antidecuplet of baryons (in the paper by Diakonov, Petrov and Polyakov (DPP97)) can be found in Maxim's talk (the pdf file of the talk is here ) held in Bochum in January, 2004. In this talk you can also find the developments right after the wave of experiments confirming the existence of Theta+.

The second after Theta+ member of the anti-decuplet is the non-strange state with nucleon quantum numbers N*(1685). Recent update about this state see Maxim's talk (the pdf file of the talk is here ) at PWA workshop in Bad Honnef (March 1-4, 2009). In this talk you can find references to key publications on this intriguing topic.
