Overview:
Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) is a key process probing the nucleon's Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs), with major experimental programs planned at JLab 12 GeV (CLAS12, Hall A), CERN COMPASS, and beyond (EIC). The analysis of such experiments presents major challenges that need to be addressed jointly by experimentalists and theorists. Methods for DVCS analysis and GPD extraction at the leading-twist level are presently being developed by several groups. The aim of the workshop is to (a) identify the critical issues in DVCS analysis and discuss methods to address them; (b) test and compare the analysis procedures proposed so far; (c) formulate possible strategies for the analysis of DVCS experiments with JLab 12 GeV, COMPASS, and a future EIC.
